Welcome to Central Library, AIIMS Bibinagar
Central Library has been operational since 2019 and is located on the 3rd Floor, Academic Block. It features separate reading rooms for faculty, residents, and students, offering facilities for reading, accessing e-resources, and book issue and return services. Central Library houses a collection of 2965 books and volumes (UG-1507, PG & Super specialty-664, Nursing-689 and Paramedical-105). It has additional books generously donated by faculty members, students, staff, and various publishers. The library currently has 1,200 active members, including students, faculty, residents, and staff. Electronic resources such as e-journals, e-databases, e-books etc. are available in the Central Library. Library tasks are managed by e-Granthalaya, Library Management System, NIC.
Central Library is fully air-conditioned and managed by a team of five staff members, including two Library and Information Assistants and three support staff working in shifts. Book transactions operate between 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM (Monday–Friday) and 9:00 AM to 1:30 PM (Saturday). Reading Rooms are open on all days from 9 AM to 11 PM.

Document Delivery Service
It is available to provide documents to library users on demand basis.
Open Access
Links to scholarly and research content are provided for easy access.
User Orientation
Central Library conducts orientation programme for new users. This is to enable them to use library resources effectively.
News-Paper clipping service
News on various subjects relating to the institute are collected.
Reprography services
Provide access for reproducing documents, such as photocopying under controlled conditions and in line with copyright law wherever needed.
Wi-Fi Enable Internet Services
High-speed campus Wi-Fi network coverage is enabled across the library halls to download and reference e-journals and papers.
Library Email Alerts
Regular automated email notifications to members regarding newly added journals, bibliography updates, and transactional alerts.

Guidelines for Transaction
- Users should carry their institute ID card for issue of books. There is no separate card issued by library for transaction.
- Membership account of the borrower is not transferable.
- User is fully responsible for due on his / her account.
- Central Library Committee has the power to cancel the membership or refuse entry/admission of any member who violates rules and regulations of the library or involves in any kind of misconduct.
- Damage to library material and resources in any form is unacceptable.
Books Policies
- When returning books to the library, user should ensure that the borrowed documents are duly removed from their account.
- Request of renewal will be considered only if there is no reservation / demand for those books.
- Books are to be presented physically for renewal.
- Books are normally issued for a fortnight; borrowing period may be reduced according to the demand.
- Book can be recalled anytime in case of demand.
- Student should return the book on or before the last due date.
- Fine of Rs. 5/- per day will be charged for late return.
- Absence or illness is not acceptable excuse for exemption from library overdue charges. Only institute holidays are left out of reckoning.
Reference Material Policies
- Reference Material is to be pursued only in Central Library.
- Consists of CD’s, Project Reports, Dissertations, Encyclopedias, Year Books, Dictionaries, Bound Volumes of Journals and other books labelled as Reference Material and any inhouse publications.
- Central Library is authorized to declare/hold certain books as reference documents according to the demand. These books may be labeled as reference material.
Library Fines
The Central Library will issue fines for late return of books. The user has to pay the amount and collect the receipt from the library staff at Library issue counter.
Loss of Library Material
Users are responsible for the books issued to them. Loss of any book should be immediately reported to Central Library. User has to replace the lost book with overdue charges (if any). The cost of lost book will be based on current market price of the book.
No Dues Clearance Certificate
- The Central Library will sign no dues certificate only after verifying that the user has returned all borrowed library documents and cleared all outstanding dues, including overdue fines and replacement charges, if applicable.
- The library will verify the users account in the Library Management System before signing the No due certificate.
- The library reserves the right to withhold the ‘No Due Certificate’ until all library dues are cleared.
Rules and Regulations
General Library Rules:
- Users have to carry the Identity Card for entering the Library.
- Users must write their names in Entry Register.
- Library material is to be handled with utmost care. User should not write damage or make any marks on any of the library material and infrastructure. If found guilty, users will be penalized.
- In order to prevent borrowers from keeping Library books with them beyond the due date, a fine of Rs. 5/- per day per book will be collected from the next day of due date stamped on the issued book till date of return.
- Food / any form of drink / and prohibited items are strictly not allowed inside the central library.
- The library is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged personal items left unattended.
- No inappropriate items should be carried inside Central Library.
- Silence to be maintained at all times in the Central Library.
- All personal belongings must be deposited at the property counter located in the designated area.
- Users are permitted to use the discussion room in accordance with the Central Library rules. The room shall be used only for academic and official purposes and must be vacated promptly after the allotted time. Users will be responsible for any damage to library property or violation of library rules.
Unacceptable Behaviors are:
- Destroying library property, including writing on books and furniture, marking, underlining, highlighting, ripping or tearing pages, removing pages or portions of pages, removing binding, removing or altering bar codes, or any other form that causes damage or defacing of library materials.
- Removing library books or property without authorization from library staff.
- Accessing inappropriate websites deemed obscene and indecent and intentionally downloading viruses and malignant programs onto library computers.
- Stealing of library property or personal property.
- Creating disturbance, posing safety threats, or refuses to abide by the library policies, users may be asked to leave Library premises by the library staff.
- Organizing unnecessary and informal meetings / group discussions are strictly prohibited inside the library premises.
